Followers are used in the heap leach stacking circuit and allows the stacking conveyor to be retracted in a continuous movement without interruption to the stacking process. Normally situated directly behind the stacking conveyor and attached to the stacking conveyor, the Follower is then moved back either under its own power source or with the aid of a loader or dozer. The conveyor is fully skirted to allow the feed conveyor or transfer conveyor to feed at any point along the conveyor without fear of spillage.
